What the add-in reads

When you click Capture Contact on an open email, the add-in reads that one message: the sender's name and address from the headers, and the message body as plain text. It cannot read any other message in your mailbox, and it does nothing unless you click the button.

What leaves your tenant

To extract a signature block, the tail of the message text — roughly the last 1,500 characters, with quoted reply chains removed — is sent to the Anthropic API for parsing. The full message, the thread, and any attachments are never sent. Anthropic does not train models on API traffic.

What is stored

• No message content is stored by this add-in. The parse is stateless: text in, fields out.
• The contact you save is written to your own Outlook People list via Microsoft Graph.
• No analytics, tracking, or third-party scripts run in the task pane.

Permissions

The add-in holds delegated Microsoft Graph permissions only — User.Read and Contacts.ReadWrite. It acts solely as the signed-in user, never on its own, and never against another person's mailbox.
